MPs are debating whether to hold an early general election in the House of Commons.

Boris Johnson has urged MPs to back an early poll, but he needs two-thirds of the House in order to force an election.

Labour is expected to abstain from the vote, which could make it difficult for Mr Johnson to reach the required threshold.
